MENTORSHIP

The Mentorship subcommittee is made up of a portion of the YEP committee members and focuses on the design and operation of the organization’s Mentorship Program. Unique from the events the Networking and Social subcommittee hosts, the Mentorship subcommittee works on programs specifically for those who have elected to be a part of the Mentorship Program. Therefore, special events such as resume workshops, career panels, and one-on-one mentoring are hosted for those a part of the Mentorship Program.

The Mentorship Program is longstanding and is one of the largest and most developed programs in the California APA network. Unique to San Diego, this program is hosted through YEP, versus the larger SDAPA organization.

Events the Mentorship subcommittee hosts normally are held in-person. For the 2020/21 mentorship cycle, events were held virtually. This adjustment provided great exposure to how programs can be adapted and it is anticipated that the Mentorship subcommittee will optimize the use of in-person and virtual event formats moving forward.

We invite you to watch some of the events that were hosted virtually during the 2020/21 cycle:

Decisions: Public, Private, or Non-Profit (March 30, 2021)

Graduate School Panel (April 8, 2021)

Planning Fields (May 6, 2021)

Social Equity Forum (June 29, 2021)
