Hello! My name is Jana, and I am so excited to be working with Ricky and serving as the new YPG Co-Chair! I am a Project Manager with Circulate San Diego and a San Diego native (Woo, La Mesa!). I am an active transportation planner and designer and currently manage a diverse range of AT and community engagement projects throughout the San Diego region. Prior to joining Circulate, I lived in San Jose and worked as a Project Designer with Callander Associates Landscape Architecture. I am a neighborhood walking enthusiast, I have a personal and professional interest in bicycling, and I strongly believe in providing equitable mobility options. In 2017 I spent a week biking over 430 miles on RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) and I wrote my thesis on the Impact of Cargo Bikes on the Travel Patterns of Women to discuss whether cargo bikes can function as a gender-equitable transportation solution in the United States.

I received my BS in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design from UC Davis and a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I am AICP and have sat on the SDAPA YPG Steering Committee for the past two years. I am also SITES AP, which is a U.S. Green Building Council program and supports sustainable land-use practices.

Fun fact: Jana used to have a pet tarantula named Mr. Spider Man.
