The SDAPA Young Planners Group (YPG) is pleased to announce the launch of the entirely virtual 2021 Mentorship Program, a wonderful opportunity for students and young planners to connect with experienced planners and for APA members and current professionals to give back to their profession. We encourage both seasoned professionals and emerging planners to participate.

The application deadline is Friday, January 15, 2021.

Program Goal

The goal of the YPG Mentorship Program is to successfully match young and emerging planners and students (Mentees) with experienced planning professionals (Mentors) for guidance and support, while offering Mentors an opportunity to strengthen ties with the future leaders of the planning community and APA.

About the Program

The YPG Mentorship Committee will use information from applications to pair Mentees with Mentors. The focus for the 2021 Mentorship Program will be to create personal, one-on-one mentorship pairings. The Mentorship Program is expected to run from late January through late July. In addition to individual mentorship pairings and meetings, the Mentorship Program will include “large group” presentations, forums, and other optional activities. Two key events that all participants will be required to attend include:

Program Kick-Off: Wednesday evening, January 27, 2021

Milestone Celebration: Thursday evening, July 22, 2021
